Between Clocks and Walls
everybody seems to have plenty
a call to take, a lunch to make
everybody seems to have plenty
a floor to mop, a pill to pop
everybody seems to have plenty
a car to wash, a check to cash
everybody seems to have plenty
a stock to watch, a plane to catch
where else we gotta be
according to so many clocks, what have
we become, what are we
do they think we’re floating rocks again
defying graffiti
painted on so many walls again
defining gravity
long after somebody falls again
everybody seems to have plenty
a bill to pay, a place to stay
everybody seems to have plenty
a mail to write, a nail to bite
everybody seems to have plenty
a box to fill, a hole to drill (a hole)
everybody seems to have plenty
a lawn to mow, somewhere to go
where else we gotta be
according to so many clocks again
what have we, what are we
do they think we’re floating rocks again
defying graffiti
painted on so many walls again
defining gravity
long after somebody falls again
someone just wrote a sticky note
someone just wrote another note
everybody seems to have plenty
a friend to meet, again repeat
between clocks and walls
where else we gotta be
...

Cautious Lovers

Cautious Lovers
cautious lovers with a bag of stars
kissing between the bars
as they pass a bunch of jet sets who grab a bite
on the skywalk right around the Moonlit Pluto for a grand opening tonight
happening without a sound
they could be anyone
just about anyone
they swear they didn’t pick or choose
their sneakers from your wall of shoes
nauseous loners got their buds
plugged in their ears: thumps and thuds
tuning out beggars sitting by the garbage cans
and the other side of town douchettes getting out of a cab with their sprayed-on tans
going down without a sound
they could be anyone
just about anyone
they swear they didn’t pick or choose
their sneakers from your wall of shoes (they’re just longing till the end)
some of them all made a straight line (for a single conversation)
out of empty bottles of wine
they swear they didn’t pick or choose
their sneakers from your wall of shoes (they’re just longing till the end)
some of them remade a straight line (for a single conversation)
out of empty bottles of wine
they swear they didn’t pick or choose
their sneakers from your wall of shoes
some of them all made a strange line
out of empty bottles of wine

Mind Sounds
seems to me you often get a penny for your buck
out of the abyss you find you’re always out of luck
when you speak your mind sounds like you plan to move away
ok, but if I may, from what I’ve seen, there the grass was grey
I could be your ball and chain if you‘d lend me your leg
the moon is up so is the tent but let’s remove the pegs
when you speak your mind sounds like you plan to move away
some day, at any cost well then I’ve lost my reason to stay
seems to me you often get a penny for your buck
out of the abyss you find you’re always out of luck
when you speak your mind sounds like you plan to move away
ok, but if I may, from what I’ve seen, there the grass was grey
it’s plain to see I’d rather have a pony for my truck
so we’re free, supposedly, we can’t say that we’re stuck
when you speak your mind sounds like you’d like to move away
ok, I’ve been away, and there I saw that the wind was raw

Foxes
let’s not wait till we’re almost dead
we stayed in bed with every cold we caught
I can’t get it out of my head
feeding foxes in the parking lot
we’ll go for a drive and stop for tuna
but I guess we can also bring cat food
if we have a chance I really wanna
pick me up if you’re in the mood
so tell me, tell me what you say
we go out there once more one day
and after a while if it’s alright
maybe we can spend the night
with a bit of luck I bet I’ll travel far
and if all goes well I’m sure I’ll make it back
if the boat I’m on can simply take your car
or the train I take only make up the tracks
a thousand and one miles and a foot
well I never knew where I’d land
I stayed home yeah I stayed put
none of my trips are very well planned
so tell me, what do you say
we go out there once more one day
and after a while if it’s alright
maybe we can spend the night

And I Forgot

And I Forgot
I wasted time and fell behind
and I forgot to change my mind
the sky was darker than the sea
the sky was darker than the sea
stepped in early and out asap
but I could not locate the map
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
if you want to make it a better day
without clouds up there
thinking your way would be the only way
sit in the sun for all I care
who's the one who said it would be a joke
crazy or insane
if you only needed a motor boat
to fly right into the rain
I wasted time and fell behind
and I forgot to change my mind
the sky was darker than the sea
the sky was darker than the sea
stepped in early and out asap
but I could not locate the map
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
if you want to make it a better day
start it the night before
thinking your way would be the only way
all my fears slip out the door
I wasted time and fell behind
and I forgot to change my mind
the sky was darker than the sea
the sky was darker than the sea
stepped in early and out asap
but I could not locate the map
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind
and I forgot to change my mind

"Some songs just hit home; you can’t put it into words, you can’t really explain it (though I’ll try, poorly), but you love
them. The moment I pressed play on the latest A Fawn at Dawn track from their False Memory EP I was hooked."
